City of Indore

Indore is the Commercial and Education capital of Cental India (The official capital being Bhopal). The city has a lot of history and great attactions - from ancient temples and palaces, to new-age malls and cine-plexes.

Lalbagh Palace

This palace belonged to the Holkars, who ruled Indore during the 17th century. The construction began in 1886, and completed in 1921. The palace is spread out in 30 acres and has Italian marble pillars, Belgiun windows and huge chandeliers. The gates of this palace are special too, as they are a replica of Buckingham Palace (London).

Rajwada

Rajwada is in the main square in the heart of the city. It is a seven storied building built over two centuries ago. This historic palace of the Holkars is built in a mixture of Maratha, Mughal and French style. The gopura-like monumental stone and wood structure, flanked by bastions and studded with balconies and windows, is a testimony of the past grandeur of the Holkars. Its lofty entrance archway above a huge wooden door encrusted with iron studs, leads into a vast courtyard enclosed
